4 most popular sweet dishes for marriage functions in India

Wedding time is one of the most awaited time of the year. It is not just socials but it is also about the fooding arrangement in the marriages. There are people who specially attend weddings to enjoy good food especially sweet dishes. So, we hereby present four easy to prepare popular sweet dishes which can be made easily at home.

  1. Rasmalai Recipe

A renowned Bengali sweet dish, Rasmalai hits the right chord when it comes to savouring milk sweet dish. So, let us learn how to prepare it.

Ingredients:

1 liter of water

10 – 12 pistas – chopped

2 cups or 300 grams of sugar

8 to 10 strands of Saffron (kesar)

300 grams of paneer or cottage cheese (mashed)

600 ml or 4 cups of Nestlé a+ Nourish Milk

200 grams or ½ tin of Nestlé Milkmaid

Recipe:

Step 1: Take a bowl and mash the paneer. Knead it to a smooth dough.

Step 2: Take a pan and put it on flame. Add water and sugar together to make a sweet syrup. Let it boil and then turn off the flame.

Step 3: Prepare small balls of paneer and put it in boiling sugar syrup. Cover it with a lead and let it cook on medium flame for 10 minutes. Keep it aside to cool.

Step 4: Take a pan and add Nestlé MILKMAID AND Nestlé a+ Nourish Milk in it. Bring the mixture to a boil. Let it become half of the mixture.

Step 5. Turn off the flame. Add some elaichi powder and saffron to it. Mix it well and let it cool down.

Step 6: Now take out the rasgullas and squeeze the sweet syrup from it. Put them in saffron syrup.

Step 7: Garnish them with pistas and serve them chilled.

  1. Gulab Jamun Recipe

An interesting recipe, Gulab Jamun has the word Gulab or rose in it but ideally it does not have an ingredient Rose in it. It is one such sweet dish which brings a smile on everyones face. It is enjoyed by majority especially the north Indians. So, lets figure out how it is prepared.

Ingredients:

600 grams of paneer (grated)

200 grams or ½ tin of Nestlé Milkmaid

200 grams of Rava or semolina or Sooji

2 cups or 200 grams of Flour

2 litres of water

6 to 8 elaichi crushed

Oil for frying

1 ½ tsp baking powder

1 kg sugar

1 ½ tsp baking soda

Ingredients:

Step 1: Take a bowl and add water. Boil sugar in it and prepare a sweet syrup. Take it down and add elaichi powder to it. Allow it to rest and cool down.

Step 2: Take a bowl and add flour, baking soda, baking powder, sooji, paneer and Nestlé Milkmaid. Mix the entire mixture to make a soft dough. Prevent kneading much.

Step 3: Divide the dough in 30 to 35 small portions. Roll them gently in round shaped gulab jamun. Add them in hot oil and fry them till they turn golden. Keep the flame low.

Step 4: Transfer the fried gulab jamun in sweet syrup.

Step 5: Place this syrup with all the added gulab jamun on flame. Bring them to a boil. Remove them.

Step 6: Serve and relish them warm.

  1. Badam Kheer

Ingredients

  • 50 gms of Kaju (Cashew nuts)

50 grams of Badam – almonds

1 tin or 400 grams of Nestlé MILKMAID

  • 1/4 tsp Almond Essence

Recipe:

Step 1: Take almonds, blanch them and de-skin them. Take cashew nuts and almonds and soak them in 2 cups of Nestlé a+ Nourish Milk for half an hour.

Step 2: Churn them into a paste along with the Nestlé a+ Nourish Milk.

Step 3: Bring a boil in the Nestlé a+ Nourish Milk. Add almond-cashew paste in it alongwith Nestlé MILKMAID. Cook it for 5 minutes and keep stirring.

Step 4: Take it down and add some almond essence to it.

Step 5: Enjoy it cold or hot as per choice.

  1. Gajar ka halwa

A winter delight, Gajar ka Halwa or Carrot halwa is most relished in marriages. It is a sure shot dessert which you will find in the plates of attendees. Check out how to prepare it easily at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 ltr of Nestlé a+ Nourish Milk
  • 2 tbsp Nestlé Everyday Ghee
  • 1 kg Grated Carrots
  • 25 gms of Kishmish (Raisins)
  • 25 gms Kaju (Cashew nuts) – chopped
  • 1/2 tin (200 gms) of Nestlé MILKMAID

Recipes:

Step 1: Take a pan and place it on the gas cook top. Add Nestlé a+ Nourish Milk and carrots in the pan. Let it boil. Cook this mixture on a low flame and stir it continuously. Let the milk dry up.

Step 2: Now pour Nestlé MILKMAID and let it cook on low flame. Keep stirring.

Step 3: Now pour Nestlé Everyday Ghee and cook for 10 minutes time. Now add dried fruits on the gajar ka halwa and serve it hot.
